Swim Lesson Level Descriptions

Goldfish 

Age: 3 months - 3 years 

Parent and Child Class

Skills: This is a fun and instructional class. We will teach under water swimming, floating on the back and breath control. We work towards performing dolphin dives, roll overs, and independent swimming.

(6 student max) 

Clownfish

Age: 3 - 4 years

Skills: Learn how to glide underwater 10 feet with and with-out kicking and back float alone for 10 seconds. This is an entry level class to learn the basics.

(3 student max)


Seahorse

Age: 5 years and up

Skills: Learn how to glide underwater 10 feet with and with-out kicking and back float alone for 10 seconds. This is an entry level class to learn the basics.

(3 student max)


Blowfish

Ages: 3 years 

Prerequisite : Clownfish

Learn pop-up breathing with crawl stroke arms and how to swim on back.

(4 student max) 

Catfish

Age: 4 years and above

Prerequisite: Clownfish, Seahorse or Scorpionfish

Learn to swim crawl stroke with side breathing, and swim on back 25 feet.

(4 student max) 

Flyfish

Skills required in Catfish 

Prerequisite: Catfish

Learn to swim crawl stroke with rhythmic side breathing, elementary backstroke and backstroke 50 feet.

(4 student max) 

Swordfish 

Prerequisite: Flyfish

Learn side stroke and treading water, build endurance on crawl stroke and backstroke for 100 feet.

(4 student max)


Barracuda

Prerequisite: Swordfish

Learn breaststroke and build upon other skills, crawl stroke and backstroke for 200 feet

(4 student max) 

Shark 

Prerequisite: Barracuda

Learn breaststroke, work on technique

crawl stroke and backstroke for 300 feet

(4 student max) 

Dolphin

Prerequisite: Shark

Learn competitive aspects of swimming - turns, starts, individual medley

crawl stroke for 500 yards
